The small female eagles without beaks or claws represent the subdued Iroquois by the Carignan-Salière regiment of which our ancestor was sergeant of the compagnie de Monsieur de Chambly.

The golden coins on the coat of arms represent the allowance received by the military for establishing themselves in the New France. The red color represents the military career of Pierre Marsan dit Lapierre.

The gold color represents the ripened wheat fields which they cultivated, and also the beginning of a new occupation.
