Association Story

A group of interested descendants of Pierre Marsan dit Lapierre gathered during an informal dinner in the autumn of 1997 at Pointe-aux-Trembles to form an association. A month later, in Mascouche, approximately thirty persons gathered to form a provisional committee.

The committee met twice in 1998, and organized the first gathering of the Marsan-Lapierre families. This memorable reunion took place on the 23rd of August 1998 at Saint-Jacques in Lanaudière where about two hundred interested family members from all over, such as Quebec, Ontario, and the United States, contributed in making this family reunion a great success.

This provisional committee formed an association on the 31st of October 1998 and elected its first Board of Directors and its rules and regulations. It is a non-profit organization uniting the Marsans, Lapierres, and Marsan dit Lapierres and all the relatives and other persons interested in our genealogical history.

The board of directors is composed of eight members who meet four times annually. If you wish to obtain additional information concerning our association, you can contact any one of these members. You can join the association at any time by just completing the Application Form you will find in the appropriate section as you visit our site.
